Outline

This study aims at developing the affective haptic technology that increases emotional security and lessens loneliness. To achieve this goal, I will address three research topics (1) identify the physiological and neural responses while receiving affective tactile stimuli (2) develop haptic technology that enables to provide affective touch (3) conduct field research using developed technology for infants and elderly people. Based on the series of research, I plan to exemplify several scenarios of the usage of affective touch devices that provides emotional security.
