Soft devices have increasingly been developed in many different fields recently. They are applied for a variety of purposes, including surgery, assistive healthcare devices, search and rescue in emergency situations, and more. Despite these mechanical advantages, information processing technologies that bring out the best of soft structures is currently missing. In this project, I aim to develop a novel framework to exploit the diverse dynamics of soft devices for information processing. This simultaneously requires a development of mathematics that bridges general relations between information processing and high-dimensional nonlinear dynamical systems.
