Outline

We will pursue multiphase shape optimization problems in phonics from the point of view of their shape analysis. Our research will combine phononic crystal and acoustic metamaterial experimentation with the mathematical theory of shape optimization and numerical simulation. This multifaceted approach aims to guide developments in the mathematical theory of multiphase shape optimization and we are expecting that our research will see innovation in various fields, with applications ranging from medical ultrasonic imaging, to the design of sound abating metamaterials.
