Outline

To develop high-performance thermoelectric materials which can directly convert the heat energy to electrical energy and vice versa, the space in the tunnel structure of intermetallic compounds is focused in this research. Investigation of the effects of the interaction between the tunnel structures and atoms included in the tunnels for the thermoelectric properties could be provide an improvement of the performance dramaticall. The goal is developing novel thermoelectric materials with an innovative performance, especially, in the temperature range from room temperature to around 150 deg. C, in which, there is huge amount of waste heat.
