Wide-gap ferromagnetic semiconductor devices

Research Results
Titanium dioxide, known as photocatalyst and transparent conducting oxide, becomes a room temperature ferromagnetic semiconductor by doping a small amount of cobalt. The ferromagnetism will be controlled via optical or electrical stimuli to demonstrate spintronics devices. Ultimate objective is realization of ubiquitous semiconductor spintronics devices operable at room temperature.
