Ge Nano Electro-Optic LSI for intrachip optical interconnects

Research Results
Intrachip optical interconnects will make it possible to enhance the performance of LSIs even in the post-scaling era. The target of this research is monolithical integration of Ge MOSFETs and Ge photodetectors on a Si substrate for ultrahigh performance LSI. Fundamental technologies for one-chip super computers and photonic router chips will be established through this research.
