An investigation of the brain-wide network for visual perception in primates using fMRI

The integration among specialized brain areas plays an important role in high-level cognitive functions.

In this research project, I want to investigate how visual perception, recognition, and consciousness are achieved by the integration across different areas in primate brains.

To this end, I will take a combined approach including fMRI in humans and monkeys, microelectrode recordings in monkeys, and modeling of effective connectivity.
