[Contents]
  The workshop has two objectives.
The first day of the workshop will be an "FSI Exchange" where the lecturers will focus on computational FSI techniques and will exchange information on what challenges are faced and how the challenges are addressed. The lectures will focus on the computational mechanics aspects of computational FSI. The methods discussed will be both general-purpose FSI techniques and special techniques targeting specific classes of problems. The lecturers will describe the advantages of the techniques they are using, together with the disadvantages and their limitations in terms of the class of applications. The audience for the first day will be research team leaders, research associates, graduate students, and undergraduate students who are doing FSI research or beginning FSI research or interested in doing FSI research.
The second day of the workshop will be short-course style, where the lectures will focus on "FSI Fundamentals". The lecturers will describe in more detail the fundamentals of the computational FSI techniques discussed on the first day. The audience for the second day will be research associates, graduate students, and undergraduate students who are doing FSI research or beginning FSI research or interested in doing FSI research.
