Outline of Research Themes

A suite of large-scale simulation codes will be developed by hybridizing numerical computation methods for various levels of physics ranging from the fluid dynamics to the electronic structures, which will have increased tolerance for compute-node troubles in a computation grid. The codes will be applied directly to various engineering processes of importance at liquid/vapor-solid interfaces in the complex materials with porous microstructures, such as the exhaust-gas catalytic converter and MEMS, under stressed conditions.
