This research focuses on the optimal operation methods for the transmission network operators and wholesale electricity markets with high penetration of renewable energies, based on fairness and rationality for all market participants. In particular, it is evaluated the improvement of available transfer capability by installing secondary batteries based on multi-period optimal power flow. Moreover, we develop a method for bid-based unit commitment with spinning reserve market under high penetration of PV and Wind generations and, finally, integrate the transmission network model with the wholesale bid-based market model.
