Outline

The aim of this project is to develop a multi-agent model that simulates a minute-resolution energy demand of residential buildings. In the model, the behavior of household members is first stochastically generated for each simulated house. The behavior is then converted to the operation of home appliance/equipment to quantify energy demand for all end-uses. The model is applicable to a neighborhood, community and city-region, so that the result, including controllable electricity demand, can be used to design and evaluate a variety of cooperative distributed energy management systems.
