Outline

In this research, we aim to understand regulation of epigenome in germ cells, which is involved in normal development of germ cells and of individuals of successive generation. For this purpose, we examine molecular mechanisms of genome-wide reprogramming of histone modifications in primordial germ cells and its physiological meanings. In addition, we investigate possible epimutations in aged sperm, that affect development of next generation. We also study epigenetic regulation underlying direct conversion of pluripotential stem cells into germ cells.
