Outline

Plants are considered to equip robust mechanisms that can respond to specific signals in the natural environments without being disturbed by complex environmental fluctuations. We expect that a part of the robustness stems from epigenetic controls of gene expression, such as histone modification, histone variant replacement, and DNA methylation. The primary purpose of the research project is to quantify dynamics of plant epigenome under natural environments. We aim to understand basis of robustness in the plant response by modeling gene expression using the obtained long-term epigenome data over a couple of years.
