Outline

In this research, we will develope the active sites and reaction fields contributing to methylation of such compounds as aromatic hydrocarbons with methane for direct synthesis of PET raw materials, etc. On the zeolite-supported transition metal catalysts where the methylation has recently been found, influences of the gas phase composition, the microstructure of ion exchange site and the characteristics of transition metal species on the rate of each reaction step will be investigated with advanced characterization techniques to estiablush a way for design the process development. We aim to develope technologies available to the industry based on the study with a practical goal.
