Outline

This field involves constructing an infrastructure for groups of technologies used in the highly efficient production of nano-scale devices and nanomaterials and the demonstration of specific examples of their application. . It also involves promoting research aiming at innovation through the nano-scale science of the phenomena related to the production process, attempting to realize the practical application of nanotechnology in the future by implementing these goals as an infrastructure for "nanoproduction technology". Specifically, the present research targets the development of feasible new materials with superior properties through the use of nanomaterials and their compounds, the construction and highly efficient production of new devices whose high performance is derived from such nanomaterials and nanostructures, nano-level processing technologies, manufacturing techniques which make use of nano-scale self-organization properties, and nano-scale measurement and investigation techniques which can be used in the manufacturing process. In addition, the field also targets nanoscience research which can innovate production technologies, and it is fully expected that practical applications will be created for various settings at the end of the research period.
