JST have been executing international joint call under the program SICORP since FY2009, together with various countries and regions. The aim of this program is to contribute towards solutions to challenges facing world today by promoting innovation while bolstering Japan's scientific and technological capabilities through mutually complementary collaboration with a broad range of countries.
JST liaise with funding agencies in counterpart countries and regions, and on an equal partnership basis select research projects supported by both countries. JST launch joint calls promptly after the arrangements with counterpart agencies have made.
