We are the leading research team to drive the new paradigmshift of “spin”, a novel property of nature. Our challenge is to innovate the use of spin in ways totally different from conventional spintronics approaches.
Spin is the internal angular momentum of electron. This mysterious rotation of electron has attracted a lot of attentions during the last decade in the context of spintronics, where spin plays the role of information carrier. But, there is more. We have revealed a hidden capability of spin: rectifying random fluctuations to workable energy. This novel capability originates from spin’s inherent property: “violation of time reversal symmetry”. Eiji Saitoh is the global leader of spin science and known as the discoverer of several novel phenomena such as inverse spin hall effect. He is the professor at Tohoku University.
Yuki Shiomi is the young talent in spin science. He is known by his extensive work on various Hall effect systems. He is an assistant professor at Tohoku University.
Mamoru Matsuo is the talented theoretical physisist. He is known by his pioneer theory of spinmechatronics. He is the primary researcher at Japanese Atomic Energy Agency.
Masahiko Ishida is famous for his major contribution in thermoelectric conversion technology. He is the research leader at NEC Corporation.
Sadamichi Maekawa is the hornored theoretical physisist. He is known as the historical founder of spintronics and globally awarded for his tremendous contributions in the area.
Yasuyuki Oikawa is the experienced research manager. He is the supporter of researchers backed by his unique experiences in startups, patent management and technology commercialization.
