FoF１-ATP synthase has been known to participate in the biosynthesis of ATP in cells. The enzyme catalyzes the energy conversion between chemical and electrochemical potentials via rotation of the rotor subunits. In this group, the mechanisms of the torque-generation and energy conversion are investigated, by using biochemical and single-milecule analysis techniques.
