Functional Complex Group
Research Strategy
?With precise organic and inorganic synthesis technology, functional complex group works on design and synthesis of novel organic and organometallic fullerene derivatives that have unique performances as photoelectric transducer, field-effect transistor, light emitter, and catalysis. Research subject involves control of molecular alignment and orientation in supramolecular assembly of the fullerene derivatives in bulk materials such as crystals, liquid crystals, and films, in order to lead to development of morphological structure in real electronic devices. This group is also aims to develop a general methodology for the synthesis of multi-metal complexes of poly-functionalized fullerenes and explores potential of these functional complexes as single-molecular devices.
