Nano Architectonics
Research Strategy
 Various nano-sized cavities and channels are constructed using artificial and biological motifs by Nano Architectonics group.One of the most competent motifs is a dendrimer molecule that provides covalently defined structures with a variety of sizes and number of dendrite ridges.Other candidate is biological proteins that form precisely-designed channel structures.Electroconductive polymers and p-conjugate luminescence elements will be prepared in these nanospaces and photoexcitation and relaxation processes of trapped light-sensing materials is investigated. Spatially-resolved and time-resolved behaviors of the excited state are deeply analyzed to obtain knowledge about single molecular dynamics(luminescence,electron transfer,and energy transfer).Detailed investigation on electronically-excited and vibronically-excited states would lead to basic understanding on "light-harvesting effect of dendrimers”.The physics of such confined nanospaces is also being explored.
