| Nano-Structure Characterization Group |
Our group is devoted to structural analyses of carbon clusters by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A high-performance TEM with high resolution, high sensitivity and high time-resolution is indispensable to visualize individual molecules including carbon clusters. Also a low-dose system is definitively required to minimize electron-induced-beam damage during the TEM observation. Development of electron spectroscopy is also crucial to realize chemical analyses and chemical state analyses on a single-molecular basis.
