Functional Complex Group
Taking advantage of our knowledge and expertise in precise synthesis technology of organic and inorganic materials, we work on designs and syntheses of novel organic and organometallic fullerene derivatives with excellent performances as photoelectric transducer, field-effect transistor, light emitter and catalyst. We also work on control of molecular alignment and orientation in supramolecular assembly of the fullerene derivatives in bulk shape such as crystal, liquid crystal or film, and on control of morphological structure of monomolecular layer on a basal plate, to build a foundation of morphological structure control in practical electronic devices. Moreover, we also aim to develop a general methodology for syntheses of multi-metal complexes of poly-functionalized fullerenes and explore possibility of applying these functional complexes for single-molecular devices.
