デモンストレーションによるロボットの対話的動作のデザイン

概 要
このプロジェクトでは、人間が手本を示すことによって対話型ロボットの振る舞 いをデザインする、スタイル・バイ・デモンストレーション(SBD: style-by- demonstration)というアプローチを提唱し、その基礎技術や応用例について研究 を行っている。手本をしめすことによってロボットの（インタラクティブでな い）動きをデザインする通常のプログラミングバイデモンストレーションの手法 と異なり、入力として人間のダイナミックな動作を受け取りそれにインタラク ティブに反応する動きをデザインする点に本手法の新規性がある。具体的なアプ リケーションとして、ぬいぐるみロボットにインタラクティブにダンスを教え る"Puppet Dancer"、 ルンバのようなロボットにインタラクティブな移動スタイ ルを教える"Robotic Puppet Master"、ユーザの操作するアバターの動きに反応 して動くキャラクタの動きをデザインする"Animation Puppet Master"などを開 発している。これらのプロジェクトを通して、人々がどのようにSBDシステムの 使用方法の理解をしていくかを主要目的として、いくつかの評価実験も行っている。
