Research Theme
Fluctuating KnotKnots and ring polymers represent an important class of macromolecules, and ubiquitously found in living cells. Yet, their basis properties are elusive because of the complication arising from the topological effect. The main purpose of the study is to unveil their universal property by exploiting knot theory and other related mathematical/physical areas. We will first construct a basic framework to treat the topological effect in the fluctuating knot, and then try to resolve various mysterious observations from a unified viewpoint.
