A New Development of Search and Control of Unstable Symmetric Solutions in Dynamical Systems

A tossed coin exhibits an outcome, a head or a tail. There is another state, just standing on its edge. This standing coin is unstable because any small disturbance can break the state. This unstable state, however, plays an important role to understand a motion of the coin because it separates two regions of different outcomes. Our goal is to find such unstable but important objects and to develop their applications to various fields.
