Algebraic Curves in Coding Theory and CryptographyCoding theory and cryptography are key technologies for information and communication systems. It turns out that algebraic curves play a very important role, as algebro-geometric codes and elliptic curve cryptography were discovered in 1970 and 1985 respectively. There would still remain, however, a lot of unknown properties of those curves over finite fields. In this project, we will research them from the point of view of applications.
