Research Theme
Research on the Underlying Mathematical Structure of the Mutation of the Influenza Virus GeneThis research explores the underlying mathematical structure of the mutation of the influenza virus gene, aiming to develop methods that predict the evolution of the viruses. Through efforts combining informatics, mathematics and life science, this project will conduct comprehensive analyses on a large number of influenza viruses that circulated in the past, and thus construct mathematical models to predict the virus's evolution into the future. The accuracy of the mathematical models will be assessed by comparing their predicted mutations with those actually observed.
