Research Theme
Regulation of inflammatory niche by small RNAs secreted by cancer cells

EBV associated lymphoma is mainly composed of non-tumor immunological cells. These cells work as “niche”, because EBV positive tumor cells cannot survive without these cells. Originally these cells try to eliminate EBV infected cells, but they changes from eliminate to support EBV infected tumor cells, which mechanism has not been clarified yet. Small RNAs have recently shown to be secreted. It has very recently reported that those critically work in cancer metastasis. The goal of this study is to clarify the function of the secreted small RNAs by EBV infected cells in the formation of inflammatory niche.
