Control of intestinal Regulatory T cell by human commensal bacteria
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a intractable disease, probably involving an over active immune response to intestinal tract. There is need to develop curative treatments for IBD. Recent studies have demonstrated that abnormal gut flora could be involved in the pathogenesis of IBD. These consider treatment by artificial manipulation of the intestinal bacteria . In this study, focusing on human gut bacteria, I will elucidate the mechanisms of induction and function of intestinal regulatory T cells and try to develop a novel therapeutic approach using human gut bacteria.
