Outline of the Project

This project aims to develop a new technology that efficiently converts carbon dioxide to alcohols around theoretical electrode potential of polymer electrolyte fuel cell cathode without high pressure or high temperature. Highly efficient alcohol synthesis will be progressed based on control of electroreduction kinetics and removal of the product from reaction sites by designing the cathode catalysts and investigating the cathode reaction.
