Asymmetric Cycloaddition via Nickelacycles

Principal Investigator

Sensuke OGOSHI (Professor, Osaka University)

Outline of the Project

The formation of “carbon-carbon bond” is a momentous issue in the organic synthesis because carbon is a ubiquitous atom. Carbon atom has hour hands and the selective shaking hands between two carbon atoms is very challenging. In this project, we try to develop a new smart organo transition metal complex to allow us to construct carbon-carbon bond selectively. This method is could be an epoch-making new reaction to give fully substituted optically active cyclobetenes that are very important synthetic intermediate of medicinal product.
