Development of Novel Metalloporphyrin Catalyst toward Advanced Catalytic Transformation Program for Carbon Utilization

Principal Investigator

Takuya KURAHASHI (Associate Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University)

Outline of the Project

Hemoglobin and cytochrome possessing metalloprphyrin cofactor catalyze many reactions in vivo.  The aim of the project is to develop metalloporpyrin catalyst, which would allow us to utilize carbon dioxide as a useful carbon source in organic syntheses, by focusing attention on the unique characters such as spin-state transition of metalloprphyrin complexes.
