Outline of the Project

This research project is intended to establish the method for the construction of the reaction field capable of activation of stable small molecules, involving CO2, CO and N2 reduction and C–H/C–C functionalization.  Here we utilize metal cluster complexes, in which metal centers can act in concert to engage in substrate binding and to effect multi-electron redox processes.  The synergy between these two features on metal cluster complexes could provide a unique strategy for stoichiometric and catalytic transformation of stable small molecules.
