Outline of the Project

The purpose of this study is to develop highly efficient catalytic reactions of CO2 reduction for use as liquid fuel and carbon resources. On the basis of the catalyst design concept of the proton-responsive catalyst, we will develop the catalyst, which can work under mild reaction conditions such as room temperature and atmospheric pressure. Toward practical and large scale hydrogen storage and transport system, efficient hydrogen supply system from the liquid fuel by the catalytic process will be investigated. We will establish the possibility of production of liquid fuel using renewable energy sources and methanol from carbon dioxide.
