CRDS aims to fundamentally strengthen JST’s capabilities in R&D strategy formulation and to reinforce JST’s structure as a science and technology funding agency, as well as contributing to Japan’s overall R&D strategy formulation process.

The Center’s objective is to promote the application of science and technology to realize a sustainable, “affluent low carbon society” conducive to the economic and social development of Japan.

The China Research Center was established in April 2006 to contribute to the development of science and technology in both Japan and China through cooperation in the fields of science and technology, as well as creating a foundation for fostering mutual understanding.
